he Android Device manager adds a layer of security to your Android device with remote locking and wipe options and also lets you locate the device via its website. The website functionality is now available as an app on the Play Store.
If you are one among those who don’t know how to activate Android device manager, it is an app that comes with Google Play Services and can be activated from Settings>Security>Device Administrators. Its permissions to wipe or lock the device and send the device’s location to Google can be controlled from the Google Settings app on your device. Once activated, you head over to the web interface of Android device manager, sign in using the same Google account that is associated with your Android device and locate your phone.
While that helps you when your device goes missing, trying to locate your device via a web browser might be difficult especially when you are trying to do it on another Android device. Google has therefore launched the Android device manager app in the Play Store.
If you lose your device, you can use any other Android device and pull up the Android device manager to locate your missing phone. As of now, the app can only help you locate the missing device, lock it or wipe the data on the device.
